Consumers Council of Canada uses online questionnaires directed to its Public Interest Network (PIN) to help identify experiences and attitudes of consumers, and to help inform priority-setting for the Council. In 2020, questionnaires focused primarily on issues related to COVID-19. This report asks for perspectives around consumers’ views about more general marketplace perspectives, including concerning the housing market, the Shaw-Rogers merger, trust in advertising, and more. Many of the answers are coloured by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic either specifically or by implication. Participants were asked a number of questions about their views compared to a year ago. The PIN is a national network of thoughtful, knowledgeable Canadian consumers organized by the Consumers Council of Canada. Joining the PIN is free for residents of Canada.
