Description

The British Columbia Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General has been conducting a review of a number of B.C.’s consumer protection laws. The purpose of the review is to determine whether the laws reflect practices in the modern marketplace and continue to maintain a good balance between safeguarding consumers and minimizing unnecessary regulatory burden or added costs for businesses. This is the Consumers Council of Canada’s October 2022 submission to that review concerning the B.C. Government’s questions about consumer contracts.
